Calling Artists: NYCC’s Design an Android Contest

29 September 2011 One Comment by

New York Comic Con has partnered with tokidoki and MetroPCS for an art contest for their 2011 event. The deadline is October 1, so this article isn’t a huge heads-up. But some artists thrive on short deadlines.

The art challenge is to design a tokidoki inspired version of the Android phone OS logo. You may have seen booths selling tokidoki cloths or bags at Comic-Con or other events. They sort of specialize in cute monsters.

So, how do you enter, who does the judging, and what do you get?

Simone Legno will select the top 20 designs to feature on the tokidoki Facebook page, where friends, family and fans alike will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite.

On October 10, 2011 creators of the 10 most “liked” designs will be given a pair of tickets to New York Comic Con to see if their artwork is featured at the tokidoki and MetroPCS’ booth! This is your chance to be a part of the East Coast’s biggest and best celebration of art and culture!

So, do a little re-design of the Android logo so it looks like tokidoki created it. Submit it on the template provided on the contest’s page on the NYCC site. Get it in by October 1. Get tickets to New York Comic Con and see your artwork displayed at the second biggest comic book show in the country.
