Gem City Comic ConGem City Comic Con expands to two days for the first time this year. It will be March 31st and April 1st at Wright State University’s Student Union. They have a new website up with all the information on the con, swag, tickets, creators, vendors, gaming and more. They are looking for their biggest year yet and just might get it.

Featured guests for the con include Larry Hama, known for creating the original GI Joe comic, Bucky O’Hare, Wolverine and many more. Mark Waid, appearing on behalf of The Hero Initiative, who has written wide variety of well-known characters, from Superman to the Justice League to Spider-Man to Archie and on such titles as Irredeemable, Incorruptible, and Kingdom Come with Alex Ross. Joe Corroney who has worked on the comic adaptions of Star Trek, GI Joe, Doctor Who, Angel, True Blood and more. Jay Leisten of Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, and Dark X-Men, sponsored by Derby City Comic Con. Dan Parent and Craig Boldman of Archie Comics. Josh Medors artist for Franzetta’s Swamp Demon, Sorcerer, and 30 Days of Night. Steve Scott artist on Batman Confidential, X-Men Forever, Indiana Jones tie-in comics, and a recent Green Lantern special project. J.W. Foxx author of the novel “The Fifth World.”

Other featured guests at the con are the likes of:

Eric Adams, Dave Atkins, Andy Bennett, Dan Davis, Sean Forney, Dara Daraghi, Twilight Star Studio, Bruce O Hughes, Scott DM Simmons, Studio Akumakaze, and Comic Related. With appearances by: Dan Taylor, Dustin Carson, Joe Pruitt, Old World Comic, Brett Pinson, Kevin Leen, Broken Icon Comic, Terence Hanley, Cheese Lord Comic, Rusty Shackles, Rodney Fyke, Kurt Einhaus, Victor Dandrige, Chris Ehnot, Mutant Cactus, and so many more.

They have already sold out of all table space so their full line up is up for viewing.

Special events at the con include gaming, once again run by Bell Book and Comic.

They are gathering auction items for the Hero Initiative Live Auction this year. So far Mark Waid is donating his personal services as a writer to the highest bidder.

Indy creator Pat Baumgardner and Marcus Rollie’s first collaboration will debut at the con, Liberty (Hells) Bell.

The complete dealers list is up on the site; a long list of comic, toy, card, and collectables.

Various local hotels are offering special rates for GCCC attendees. Rooms are limited so reserve soon.

Follow them on Twitter and Facebook for a chance each month to win prizes. Past prizes have been multi-packs of graphic novels and CGC graded comics.

One of my favorite comic conventions last year and they are all set for this year already. Looks to be a good show for comic fans and collectors with plenty of indy talent.

Check them out at their website.
