Reminder: Shore Leave 32 is Almost Here!

Last year one of my favorite conventions was Shore Leave. It was a nice mid-sized con that offered a great mix of science fiction and actual science programming, along with interesting celebrity Q&As, and vendors. Shore Leave is a fan-run convention held in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). It is happening July 9-11, 2010 at the Marriott’s Hunt Valley Inn.

A Report on Wizard World Philly’s 2010 Official After Parties

Despite having attended fandom conventions for over a decade now, I’ve never actually been to an “official” after party. Sure, I’ve been to the unofficial ones, but never something like what I experienced this weekend. On Friday and Saturday nights, I headed over to The Trocadero, which is a really fun theater venue just a two minute walk from the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Wizard World Philly 2010 Convention Report

Bubonicon 42 – A New Mexico Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention

Bubonicon 42 is a science fiction and fantasy convention taking place at The Albuquerque Grand (Sheraton) Airport Hotel in New Mexico, from August 27-29, 2010. Douglas Adams’ “Life, the Universe and Everything” is the inspiration and theme for 2010′s Bubonicon 42. So bring a towel!

Upcoming Event: Can’t Stop The Serenity Des Moines 2010

Can’t Stop The Serenity is a worldwide event that is held in order to raise money for the charity Equality Now and other local charities in the cities which have screenings. I recently got an e-mail from someone behind Can’t Stop The Serenity Des Moines, who asked me if I’d give a shout out to the event here on the blog. Given my love for Serenity/Firefly and good causes, I knew I had to write something about it.
