My friends and I went and saw the new Star Trek movie last night at our local IMAX theater, and I must say, we all thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It really was a pretty well executed, action packed thrill ride of a reboot that the Star Trek franchise needed. However, I’ve seen some other friends of mine raving about how “OMG! Amazing!” it was, and I’m just not there with them. Yes, it was great, but isn’t the best Trek movie out there, and it did have some moments that made my friends and I turn to each other and say “WTF?”

I’m a huge Star Trek Fan. I’m a huge Family Guy fan. Imagine my delight when I realized that two of my great television show passions were going to have a love child? I really wanted to write an out of this world (excuse the pun) review of the “Star Trek” Family Guy episode. But I was terribly disappointed by Family Guy’s absurdly hyped Star Trek: The Next Generation episode (which was titled “Not All Dogs Go to Heaven” – after the A story).

On Saturday, I went and saw the movie Fanboys with my boyfriend, and my friend Bart (who contributed to the Zombification 101 article). Bart actually drove three hours to Philadelphia from Virginia, because our theater in Philly was one of the closest ones showing the movie. I decided the movie was worth reviewing here on the blog, being as conventions are populated by fanboys and fangirls alike.
