Calling all Victorians, Neo-Victorians, airship captains, goths, vamps, counter culturists, artists, musicians, and anyone interested in what one may call an “alternative” lifestyle! (Boy is that a mouthful.) This weekend is “The Alternative Living Expo.”

Tolkien Moot is an annual convention, usually held in Washington, that is dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien enthusiasts, gamers, and scholars. Good ‘ol JRR is the author of such fantasy works as The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which you may have heard of.

Gem City Comic Con is six years old and a true comic con which still focuses on the comics. They bring in national level comic creators and have plenty of local creators as well.

HammerCon is a game convention run for gamers by gamers. The Canadian event, now in its third year, will be held November 4-5, 2011, at the Plaza Hamilton hotel located in downtown Hamilton, Ontario.
