Do not confuse inspiration with plagiarism. I credit Frank Frazetta for teaching me to loosen up my style and to play with curves and color. But I have long since created my own style of ink slapping.

Dragon*Con is an amazing experience. It took me a couple of years of thinking about it before I finally gave it a try and once I did I knew I'd never miss it again! Been going for eight years now.

I fly down from the Boston area so like yourself it can be pricey but if I keep a close eye on things I can usually get a flight for around $200. March and April are usually when the fares tend to drop. At least they have for the past few years.

Thanks for running a great website. :)

Baldman Games took over the convention several years ago. Yes, Ft. Wayne has real problems with snow in January and February. The first two years I went I drove through incredible snowstorms to get there.

The convention can be found at:www.baldmangames.com. If you click on the top header, D&D Experience 2011, it will take you to the convention information. The bottom option, registration takes you to the actual place to register on line. At least it did. Online registration is now closed. Onsite registration is available. Slots are $8 for single games, $16 for two-round slots. I believe the badge is around $25 for the weekend.

Parking at the garage connected to the hotels and convention center is $7, but the last time I got a room there, they validated the parking every day.

Hope this helps.

Afraid I haven't heard of that cosplay site. If you're really curious about it, though, I'd suggest asking around on one of the multitudinous cosplay forums out there on the interwebs.

Hello! Thanks for the info on good cosplay sites. This is exactly what I was looking for when I jumped on Google today. :) I'm wanting to network a little more in this department and I was wondering if you heard about http://en.worldcosplay.net/ ? I don't follow Ya Ya Han, but some how came across her promoting this site. I see her pictures on the home page so I assume she is associated somehow. Do you have any experience with this site or know anyone who does? Thank you very much!

Ah yes, the Great New England Steampunk Expo. The only place a performer can get hired to perform and then get cheated out of their money when the production company goes bankrupt. Liars and cheats. http://t.co/szhAirLU

I have never attended the Xena Conventions either. I was a freshman in highschool when the show ended. Now the act of getting there and saving enough money to go to the conventions was incredibly impossible, I'm just glad that I found this out sooner than later and now I feel it is time to see the childhood heroes I adored since I was 8. :D

Thanks for this article.

Wondercon was originally in Oakland, CA until the San Diego Comicon team bought it out. I used to go to the Oakland show a couple of times before it moved to SF.

There's really no reason to go to Anaheim. There are plenty of large convention centers here in the San Francisco Bay Area and South Bay area near San Jose.

Unless they're renovating all FOUR buildings, it again makes no sense. Moscone Center has separate buildings. It was at Moscone West one year and it went to the larger one, Moscone South, for several years.

Anyway, I"m disappointed in this. I hope that it will be temporary, though I've never seen one quote from the San Diego Comicon group that it will be temporary, not in so many words.
