Jim Butcher, author and creator of the popular Harry Dresden series, will be appearing next month at Norwescon as their Special Guest. Which is a notch up from the distinguished Guest of Honor slot.

Madicon is this weekend and they are gearing up for it. They have a lot planned for their 20th anniversary, adding some new stuff while maintaining the classics. Guests lined up are authors C.S. Friedman, Katherine Kurtz, and C.J. Henderson. Filker and web comic creator Rob Balder, gaming guest Brian Glass, and medieval recreation group COMARR.

Ah, ConDor Con – my favorite sci-fi/fantasy convention; your engaging and informative panelists, your literary focus, your fun themes, your all ages programing, your tastiness-filled con suite, your cozy atmosphere.

This is the week of Mysticon in Roanke, VA. Plans are being finalized, attendees are packing, guests are getting ready, and of course staff members are losing a little bit more of their sanity.

Madicon is run by the Science Fiction Fantasy Guild at James Madison University. The con is held at the college in Harrisonburg, VA and this will be their 20^th anniversary. It will be March 11-13.
