Press Release: Star Trek Las Vegas: 2010 Convention: It Is Heating Up!

27 January 2010 by

Every year we roll out the red carpet for our fellow fans from around the galaxy to come to Vegas to join in the celebration of Gene Roddenberry’s enduring legacy. It is a four days and nights of non-stop fun and excitement and an opportunity to close the doors on the outside world and spend time with folks who share a love of Star Trek, the future, and the endless possibilities that are on the horizon for mankind.

The Official STAR TREK Convention in Las Vegas is the world’s largest convention for Star Trek fans and when it comes to guests, events, and production values there really is no peer. That’s why we hope that you are able to be with us August 5-8, 2010 at The Las Vegas Hilton. We promise a time like no other and one that you will remember for a lifetime!

As you can imagine we are already working round the clock to book guests and attractions and at this early time we are happy to announce our first 12 guests headlined by WILLIAM SHATNER! Other stars already aboard are pictured and we’ll have over 70 stars with us, as usual (expect tons of new announcements in the next few months)! Our top of the line GOLD WEEKEND PACKAGES are available now (and selling quickly), additional ticket options will come on-line soon.

We also have contracted the NEVADA POPS, under the direction of Musical Director and Conductor RICHARD McGEE to perform for our audience on Saturday Evening. Join us as this distinguished 50 piece world class orchestra recreates a dynamic set of some of the great Star Trek orchestral scores from television and film. We will feature several pieces never performed at the Official Star Trek Convention including the WORLD PREMIERE performance of James Horner’s “Stealing The Enterprise” score from Star Trek 3: The Search For Spock, Star Trek 2009 Theme by Michael Giacchino, and Dennis McCarthy’s Archer Theme from Star Trek: Enterprise. Plus beloved fan favorites like “Inner Light Suite” by Jay Chattaway, and of course themes from both television and the films. This gala affair is complimentary for our GOLD WEEKEND PATRONS! Dress to impress! Approximate running time 90 minutes.
