Press Release: “Comic Book Literacy” to Screen at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International
The independent documentary film “Comic Book Literacy” will screen Friday July 23rd at 4:30 PM as a part of the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. The festival happens during the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International and takes place in Marriott Hall in the Marriott Hotel and Marina next to the San Diego Convention Center.

Nikola Tesla Energy Independence Celebrations and Conference Happening this Weekend
I tend to shy away from posting non-fandom conventions and conferences here, but I decided to make an exception for the Nikola Tesla Energy Independence Celebration and Conference. Why? This celebration includes Tesla coil demonstrations, contests, music and vendors, some of which may be of interest to the convention going crowd. And did I mention a lot of it was free? Yeah, there’s that.

Press Release: Burt Ward Joins Adam West and Julie Newmar as Chicago Comic Con Guests!
It will be like a trip to the Batcave for “Batman” fans as Burt Ward, who played “Robin” in the original television series, makes his first trip to Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, August 19-22 at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. Ward, who was a huge hit at Anaheim Comic Con in April, joins Adam West (Batman) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman) as Chicago Comic Con guests from the popular program, which ran from 1966-68 and has lived on for decades in syndication.

Press Release: Peter S. Beagle to Return to Otakon
Award-winning fantasy author Peter S. Beagle will make his third appearance as a guest at Otakon 2010. Beagle, author of The Last Unicorn, is America’s greatest living fantasist and has millions of fans around the world. In addition, Beagle has also written many teleplays and screenplays, including the animated versions of The Lord of the Rings and The Last Unicorn, plus the fan-favorite “Sarek” episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. His nonfiction book I See By My Outfit is considered a classic of American travel writing, and he is also a gifted poet, lyricist, and singer/songwriter.
