Hurricane Who – Category 2 Convention Rescheduled for November 2011
I have some sad news for you Doctor Who fans who were planning to attend the Hurricane Who – Category Two convention in Orlando, Florida this fall. As some of our readers may recall, we posted an article back in May about some serious troubles facing the convention, namely that there had been a series of guest cancellations (including headliner Colin Baker), and financial restructuring. One of the most alarming concerns was that guests from the first convention still had not been paid. The result of all that has been that the convention has officially been pushed back to November 4 – 6, 2011, more than a year from now.
From the Hurricane Who website:
First off, Hurricane Who: Category 2 has been rescheduled to the weekend of November 04 – 06, 2011. We will still be in the lovely Doubletree Orlando Resort International Drive. The staff there have been extremely supportive during this process and look forward to hosting us in the future. Guest and Ticket information will be available in Early 2011.
The convention was originally scheduled for October 29 through October 31, 2010. Organizers are hoping to hold a smaller event that weekend instead. More information will apparently be posted “in the coming weeks.”
As always, The Convention Fans Blog will continue to post updates on the situation, as new details become available.
