Yep… We Got Hacked
Hi everyone,
Sometime during the day today, The Convention Fans Blog got hacked. All of the users were deleted, including the admin accounts. When I attempted to back up the SQL database, it failed because of the missing user info and everything was essentially lost.
However, there is something of a light at the end of the tunnel. Google does a great job of caching websites, but after so many attempts from one IP address it stops you from downloading them. What I need now is help in downloading the Google cache files for the blog. If you are able and willing to help, send an e-mail to kelly@conventionfansblog.com. Thanks to the amazing efforts of our staff, it looks like we’ve been able to archive almost everything! Now we just have to start the painful process of re-posting it all.
Lesson Learned: Always use the most current version of WordPress. Back up your database weekly. Don’t let this happen to you.
