Press Release: Best Selling Author Carrie Vaughn as Guest of Honor at CopperCon 31

Phoenix’s premiere Science Fiction convention, CopperCon, is proud to host best selling author Carrie Vaughn as Guest of Honor.

Phoenix, Arizona – February 21, 2011 – The Central Arizona Speculative Fiction Society (CASFS), sponsor of CopperCon 31 will proudly host best selling author Carrie Vaughn as Guest of Honor.

Carrie is the best selling author of the Kitty Norville Series, about a werewolf named Kitty who is also a radio talk show host for others with supernatural powers. The eighth book in the series, Kitty Goes to War (Tor Books), is now available while the ninth book, Kitty’s Big Trouble, will be released in June. Carrie is also author of several short stories that have appeared in anthologies such as Wild Cards Volume 1; Dark and Stormy Knights; and Full Moon City as well as Lightspeed Magazine. Carrie was born in 1973. Her father was a pilot for the Air Force. Her love of reading, science fiction in particular, began at the age of eight when her mother gave her Red Planet (R.A. Heinlein) and then when her father showed her the Kubrick film. 2001: A Space Oddessy. She was a valedictorian of her high school graduating class and she received a Master of Arts in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she still lives. Carrie has worked as a Renaissance Festival counter wench, a theater usher, an editor, a buyer at an independent bookstore, and as the ever-popular ‘administrative assistant.

CopperCon 31 is a science fiction convention, scheduled for September 2-5, 2011, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 11460 West Hilton Way, Avondale, Arizona. Membership is $35.
