Wizard World Philly 2011 Starts Today!
Today kicks off 3-days of fandom in Philadelphia at Wizard World Philly (also known as Philadelphia Comic Con). Hosted by Wizard Entertainment, this convention is the largest fandom con within the city, bringing in thousands of visitors. Wizard World Philly 2011 is being held June 17-19, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in center city.
Some of the guests headlining the convention are Bruce Campbell, Adam Baldwin, Vivica A. Fox, Julie Benz, Billy Dee Williams, Adam West, and Nicholas Brendon. There are several other stars and dozens of artists in attendance as well, like Don Oriolo, Carlos Pacheco, Doug Braithwaite, Humberto Ramos, and more. The convention boasts over 270 “superstar creators” in attendance. They will be on hand to meet fans, sign autographs and sketch. The celebs will be signing autographs and some have special photo ops available for purchase.
Tickets will be available at the door. If it’s anything like last year though, you’ll want to get there early on Saturday and Sunday, because the lines can be quite long. A three-day ticket is $50, and one-day tickets are $30 each. Up to two children can get in free per paid adult.
Visit www.wizardworld.com/home-pa.html for more information and to purchase tickets.
We’ll have photographer Joey DeMarco there covering the event for us, so be sure to keep an eye on our flickr account for the photos. Meanwhile, check out some of our photos from Wizard World Philly 2010.
