Long Beach Horror & Comic Con Extends Masquerade Deadline

2 September 2011 by

If you’re a cosplayer planning to attend the Long Beach Horror & Comic Con (LBCC) in California this October and were bummed that you’d missed the deadline to apply for their Masquerade there’s some good news for your. Long Beach has extended the deadline to October 15th.

The Masquerade Ball is one of those traditional convention events that’s a favorite with both the costumers and the attendees. The Cosplayers get to show off the fruits of their hard work and the rest of us get to sit in (relative) comfort and ogle nifty costumes. The Masquerade event at the Long Beach convention should be particularly interesting since they’ve added the “Horror” to the con’s name since the 2011 fan fest is scheduled for October. (LBCC is usually in November)

With a large horror-loving population in Southern California, many of whom have professional costuming cred in Hollywood, the Masquerade Ball for this year’s Long Beach Comic (& Horror) Con should be something to see. And hopefully a bit of a twist to the usual convention Masquerade fare.

The LBCC 2011 Masquerade and costume contest will be October 29, 8:00pm, in the Promenade Ballroom. The deadline to submit your costume idea to the committee is October 15. There’s an additional prize of $100 for costumes designed after characters from Heroic Publishing works. Submit your registration form to masquerade@longbeachcomiccon.com

2011′s Long Beach Horror & Comic Con is scheduled for October 29-30 and will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. Registration is currently open and tickets range from $25-$50.
