Write for Us!
Convention Fans Blog is back after a long hiatus. We need new convention loving bloggers to join our staff of regular contributors.
Do you like attending fandom conventions? Do you enjoy blogging or writing? What about taking photos? Well, how would you like to be part of The Convention Fans Blog? We’re looking for individuals who would like to become regular contributors. We get invitations to attend conventions all over the United States and Canada, and we simply don’t have enough people to get to them all.
Ideal candidates attend fan conventions and can commit to writing at least 2-3 articles per month, of at least 200+ words (con reports should be at least 400-500+ words though). CFB needs writers for Convention Reports as well as Articles (news, interviews, advice, etc).
That said, we don’t pay writers. We’re currently a non-profit site; any ads you see are exchanges, not paid. Our unofficial motto is, “No Pay But Glory.” Since you’d be a volunteer, please be aware that regular contribution to a blog takes a consistent commitment of time and emotional energy.
So, what can CFB can offer you in return for your efforts? Aside from the geek cred of writing for an established fan blog, we can give you the occasional free entry into a convention.
Please note that CFB will NEVER ask you to pay to go somewhere on our behalf, but by the same token we can’t pay you to go there. If you pay to go to a con for yourself, you are never obligated to write about it for us. In return for free press entry though, you agree to write an article or two before the con, and do a report and post photos within 48 hours of your return.
We’re open to all levels of blogging experience, but you really need to be able and willing to invest the time and follow our house style guidelines.
Please note that if you are an SEO business offering to guest post or ‘link build’ the answer is a polite “No”, accompanied by eye-rolling.
