Press Release: Horror Realm Week & Horror Realm Convention Coming Up Sept 13-19

Only 8 days until Horror Realm, Pittsburgh’s modern horror convention, opens the doors on its second year! But we have activities and events all next week leading up to the convention, beginning next Monday.

Pre-Convention Events:

  • Monday, September 13 @ 7 PM

Rhiannon Frater Book Signing Event

Meet the author of The Tale of the Vampire Bride, Pretty When She Dies and the award winning As the World Dies zombie trilogy, which has been optioned to be made into a film or television series

Pittsburgh Paranormal Society Discussion Program

Horror Realm is pleased to present an evening of paranormal tales & discussion. Join PPS founder and leader Shawn Kelly as he discusses coexisting with spirits, understanding paranormal activities in our lives, and investigations conducted by PPS since its start in 2006. Questions are encouraged during the presentation!

Horror Film Night at The Oaks Theater

Horror Realm Rock Night

Rev up for the convention with a horror & zombie rock show featuring:

  • Special guest Kevin Van Hentenryck, star of Basket Case
  • The Whips
  • Father Flamethrower
  • The Wakening

21 & over – $5 cover

Horror Realm Convention dealer room/guest hours are:
Friday 9/17 4 PM to 10 PM
Saturday 9/18 10 AM to 7 PM
Sunday 9/19 11 AM to 5 PM

Tickets may be purchased at the door:
Weekend (3-day) – $30 which includes a free gift and free admission to the costume ball on Saturday night
Single Day (Fri or Sat) – $15 – Saturday ticket includes free admission to the costume ball
Sunday Steel City Special – $10
Kids 12 and under are free with a parent or guardian

  • Sneak preview of Chain Letter on Saturday @ 2 PM – see it before it hits theaters in October!
  • Tattoo Contest – Saturday @ 6:15 PM
  • Night of the Living Dead Costume Ball presented by Magic Hat Brewing – Saturday @ 9 PM – free with a weekend or Saturday pass, otherwise $5 to the public – 18 and older please
  • Little Monsters kids program – Sunday @ 10 AM
