Shore Leave 33 is Happening July 8-10, 2011

Shore Leave is a fan-run science fiction convention that will be hosting their 33rd convention this July 8-10, 2011 in Maryland. We’re pretty big fans of Shore Leave (just read our 2009 and 2010 convention reports), and this year looks to be as awesome as ever!
The celebrity guests scheduled to appear include Christopher Judge (Stargate SG-1), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Eddie McClintock (Warehouse 13), John de Lancie (Star Trek), Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary), Gary Lockwood (Star Trek), Sally Kellerman (Star Trek, M*A*S*H), and Cliff Simon (Stargate SG-1).
Space Shuttle astronaut John Grunsfeld is also on the guest list, along with a ton of authors, artists, and scientists.
Tickets are available now. The deadline for pre-registration is June 15, 2011. Thereafter, registration will be at the door, but attendance is capped at 1,500, so you’re advised to pre-register.
Current pre-registration prices are as follows:
- Weekend: $85 (Register in advance for $80.)
- Friday Only: $30
- Saturday Only: $60 (includes Masquerade and Ten-Forward)
- Saturday Evening Only: $15 – For admission to Masquerade (viewing attendance) and Ten Forward only. To participate in the Masquerade you must have at least a full Saturday membership.
- Sunday Only: $40
- Teen (13-17): $50
- Youth (5-12): $20
- Children (under 5): Free with paying adult
The convention is being held at the Hunt Valley Inn in Baltimore, Maryland. There is a discounted room rate of $129 (plus applicable taxes) per night.
