Steampunk on the Queen Mary This Weekend
What’s better than a steampunk convention? How about one held on the historic Queen Mary docked in Long Beach, California?
Her Royal Majesty’s Steampunk Symposium is scheduled for this weekend, January 13-16, 2012. Pre-registration is closed, but I assume they’ll be selling tickets onsite as there’s no “sold out” notice on the website. No info on what onsite tickets cost, though.
This is the first annual HRM Steampunk Symposium and Masquerade Ball. Some of the guests for the 2012 event are author O.M. Grey and performers such as UnWoman, Lee Presson and the Nails, John Magnificent, Thee Bluebeard, and the Avant-Garde Fencers Club.
There’s also a Friday night dance, $10 cover charge, featuring Steam Powered Giraffe and 6 String Samurai the band.
In ADDITION to the Steampunk Symposium, all tickets to the event get you access to tour the legendary Queen Mary herself. It’s a GREAT tour, I can tell you. And, like all historic ships, the Q.M. is supposed to be haunted.
