August is here, the last month of summer conventions. There are quite a few fan events for anime, manga, and Japanese culture appreciation scheduled for this month.

Matsuriconn has scheduled over 20 Guests for their sixth year; voice actors, musicians, artists, industry people, and more.

Otakon held a fundraiser for Japan Relief at their 2011 event and raised over $65,00 for four different charities to aid post-earthquake restoration.

For the 18th year, Otakon’s attendance grew, this year reaching a new milestone.

2011 is the second year of Animinicon SoHo, an anime convention that debuted last year. The event will be held August 12-14 in New York (the state AND the city) at the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art.
