Press Release: Bring On The Magic! For The Cosplay Queens Will Be At Play
Magic The Gathering and The Cosplay Blackjack Tournament at Phoenix Comicon
Phoenix, AZ April 6, 2010: Cosplayers will get a chance to win great prizes at the Cosplay Blackjack Tournament, and special guest Magic Artist Howard Lyons will be at Magic the Gathering table.
It’s not your average deck of card games at the Cosplay Blackjack Tournament, where cosplay is mandatory to play, and the cosplay queens will try their best to beat you at card games like 21.
“It makes it all the more exciting to see everyone in cosplay,” said Katie Charland, Phoenix Comicon’s Community Outreach Manager.
Also, Magic Artist Howard Lyons is to attend Magic the Gathering events, such as the draft and casual play. Magic the Gathering is the world’s top-selling collectible card game. A draft is a type of tournament where players pay $25, and receive three booster packs of cards. Using these packs, the player creates a deck of cards and competes for more booster packs.
“Magic the Gathering keeps getting better!” said Matt Solberg, Convention Center Director.
Phoenix Comicon is the signature pop culture event of the southwest, presenting guests and programming for hobbyists and fans by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, sci-fi, film, TV, and gaming industries. Entering its ninth year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 10,000+ attendees to its May 27-30, 2010 convention held at the Phoenix Convention Center and Hyatt Regency located in downtown Phoenix.
