PHOENIX, AZ JUNE 2nd 2010: Phoenix Comicon staff are finally able to announce the final attendance numbers from this past Memorial Day Weekend. Where only 10,000 had been expected to attend, nearly 14,000 showed up. After all the paper purchases, online purchases, vendors and staff were counted, 13,988 people attended Phoenix Comicon. Last year’s attendance was around half that at.

Phoenix Comicon was this past weekend, and I wish I had been there. I say this every year actually. It looks like one hell of a good time. Why? Because they have things like a zombie beauty pageant, and Stan Lee. And oh yeah, Wil Wheaton totally turning into a rockstar as he plays Rock Band on a stage with his fans. Yes, you read that right. Phoenix Comicon is an Arizona (USA) convention being held May 27 – 30, 2010 at the Phoenix Convention Center and The Hyatt Regency. Entering its ninth year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 10,000+ attendees in 2010.
