PHOENIX, AZ JUNE 2nd 2010: Phoenix Comicon staff are finally able to announce the final attendance numbers from this past Memorial Day Weekend. Where only 10,000 had been expected to attend, nearly 14,000 showed up. After all the paper purchases, online purchases, vendors and staff were counted, 13,988 people attended Phoenix Comicon. Last year’s attendance was around half that at.
“It was amazing to see all the families,” said Joe Boudrie, Phoenix Comicon Programming Director and father, “We really did it this time!”

Phoenix Comicon was this past weekend, and I wish I had been there. I say this every year actually. It looks like one hell of a good time. Why? Because they have things like a zombie beauty pageant, and Stan Lee. And oh yeah, Wil Wheaton totally turning into a rockstar as he plays Rock Band on a stage with his fans. Yes, you read that right. And now you probably wish you had been there too.

Phoenix Comicon is an Arizona (USA) convention being held May 27 – 30, 2010 at the Phoenix Convention Center and The Hyatt Regency. Entering its ninth year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 10,000+ attendees in 2010. Believe me when I say I am totally jealous of all 10,000+ people that are getting to attend this killer convention. You’ll know what I mean when you hear about the guest list, I promise you. (And yes, the image above is a hint.)

The ConQuest Convention Scheduler is the latest edition to the Phoenix Comicon website.
Phoenix, AZ May 12, 2010: Phoenix Comicon fans and site users can now create an account to have their own personal panel and event scheduling assistant at phoenixcomicon.com with the new ConQuest Convention Scheduler.“This is perfect, now members can easily plan out their Comicon experience for later this month.” Said Anabel Martinez, Director of Marketing for Phoenix Comicon.

Actor John Schneider, best known for his role of Bo Duke in the wildly popular 80’s television series The Dukes of Hazard, has announced he will be attending the 2010 Phoenix Comicon.
“John Schneider played a hero to millions of American youngsters,” said Convention Director Matt Solberg, “I know I would have given just about anything for a spin in the General Lee.”
