Upcoming Event: Can’t Stop The Serenity Des Moines 2010

10 June 2010 by

Can’t Stop The Serenity is a worldwide event that is held in order to raise money for the charity Equality Now and other local charities in the cities which have screenings. I recently got an e-mail from someone behind Can’t Stop The Serenity Des Moines, who asked me if I’d give a shout out to the event here on the blog. Given my love for Serenity/Firefly and good causes, I knew I had to write something about it.

The Des Moines event is happening Thursday, June 24th, at 6:30 p.m. at Fleur Cinema, 4545 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa.

Tickets go on sale at the door at 6:00 p.m. At 6:30 there will be a costume contest, followed by door prizes at 6:45, and then a showing of Doctor Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog at 7:00 p.m. The movie Serenity will be played at 8:00 p.m., and from an actual reel (not a DVD).

Tickets are just $10, and can be pre-ordered from the event website.
