Pre-Registration Open for 2012 World Steam Expo

30 November 2011 by

Headsup steampunk fans! The World Steam Expo has opened pre-registration for their 2012 convention.

The steampunk event is one of America’s most popular conventions for the genre and is held each year in Michigan. The 2012 convention is scheduled for May 25-28 (what’s with May for steampunk cons?). Currently the four day pass is on sale for a limited time pre-registration special price of $45. Though the World Steam Expo site doesn’t say when this pre-reg badge price cut expires I’d imagine it would be sometime in February.

Here’s a quick look at some of the registration answers from the World Steam Expo’s FAQ page:

Q: Is it better to buy a daily membership each day, or to purchase a full weekend pass?
A: Purchasing a full weekend membership is more cost effective if you are to attend more than 1 day, and more so if you register in advance. Our daily prices can be found on the registration page of our website.

Q: What is a Platinum registration? What is it about and what does it offer?
A: Platinum memberships are a way to show extra support for the convention in advance. For those that help support us in this way, we wish to show our gratitude with several special benefits for your consideration. From early entry to the vendor’s room, to priority seating at events. This also includes a full 4-day access to the expo, as well as a Saturday admission to Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. Platinum registration also includes a voucher to attend the Charity Masquerade Ball.

The 2012 World Steam Expo is scheduled for May 25-28 and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn at Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Pre-registration ticket prices currently range from $45-$120.
