June, 2011, has quite a few anime conventions scheduled; at least one every weekend this month, in fact.

June marks the start of the plentiful summer conventions, as well as outdoor festivals and fairs. I’ve tried to include as many small, little known conventions as possible so June’s con list will hopefully have something that’s new to everyone.

This weekend SoonerCon, the aptly named fan run multi-genre convention in Oklahoma City, plans to delight Firefly fans at their 2011 event with two screenings of the Joss-approved fan made sequel to Serenity.

Trek Expo has announced their Guest lineup for the 2011 event in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The list is headed by George Takei and includes a range of actors from various iconic science fiction TV shows and movies.

This hybrid multi-genre convention mixes steampunk, horror, pirates, sci-fi, and fantasy all with the unifying element of the Western Martial Arts. We’re pretty big on steampunk here at Convention Fans Blog so let me tell you that the steamy events scheduled so far for CombatCon 2011 are looking pretty sweet.
