Hello loyal readers. Over the next 24 hours or so The Convention Fans Blog will be undergoing some changes, as I switch WordPress themes. I’ll be honest here… I’m not 100% sure I know what I’m doing. I have no doubt that I’ll break a few things along the way. However, I do hope that come Monday morning it will look even prettier than before.

F.A.C.T.S. is proud to announce its sixth guest and first actress; Kristanna Loken. After the previous announcements of artists Frank Cho, Dave Gibbons, famed cartoonist Lectrr, Brandon Peterson and fantasy-artist Anne Stokes to our 20th anniversary show in Gent, Belgium, we are now pleased to introduce actress Kristanna Loken.

You may be wondering why a blog dedicated to fandom conventions would be writing about Twitter. Hell, you may even be wondering what Twitter is! For those who may not know, Twitter is a social media site that allows users to post 140 character messages to the internet.

Last year one of my favorite conventions was Shore Leave. It was a nice mid-sized con that offered a great mix of science fiction and actual science programming, along with interesting celebrity Q&As, and vendors. Shore Leave is a fan-run convention held in Baltimore, Maryland (USA). It is happening July 9-11, 2010 at the Marriott’s Hunt Valley Inn.

Despite having attended fandom conventions for over a decade now, I’ve never actually been to an “official” after party. Sure, I’ve been to the unofficial ones, but never something like what I experienced this weekend. On Friday and Saturday nights, I headed over to The Trocadero, which is a really fun theater venue just a two minute walk from the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
