Sir Patrick Stewart Cancels Appearance at Chicago Comic Con 2010

For weeks now, Wizard Entertainment has been promoting the heck out of their Chicago Comic Con (a.k.a. Wizard World Chicago) convention, and the fact that Star Trek’s William Shatner and Sir Patrick Stewart would be there. However, Wizard has just informed fans that Stewart has canceled his appearance at the convention. The reason was cited as “production scheduling conflicts.”

Otakon Convention Report: 30,000 Nerds. 0 Slave Leias.

For three days every summer, the citizens of Baltimore share the streets with an army of costumed nerds who flock to the city for Otakon. A festival of anime and Japanese nerd-culture where even the strangest costume can find a home. Otakon is a great convention with an excellent atmosphere and enough fun to cure any situation that ails you.

Hurricane Who – Category 2 Convention Rescheduled for November 2011

Hurricane Who, a Florida Doctor Who convention originally scheduled for October 2010, has been rescheduled for November 2011. The convention has been plagued by guest cancellations (including Colin Baker), and financial problems. Organizers are hoping to hold a smaller event that weekend instead. More information will apparently be posted “in the coming weeks.”

Press Release: We Can Rebuild Him!… Lee Majors To Make First Wizard World Comic Con Appearance at Big Apple in October

Lee Majors, who has starred in numerous television series over six decades, most notably “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “The Fall Guy,” and “The Big Valley,” will be a special guest at Wizard World Big Apple Comic Con, October 1-3, at Penn Plaza Pavilion in New York. The appearance will mark Majors’ first at a Wizard World show, and his first convention in more than 30 years.
