This past weekend Creation Entertainment hosted the Official East Coast Star Trek Convention in Parisppany, New Jersey. On the guest list was George Takei, Jeri Ryan, Casey Biggs, Jeffrey Combs, Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik, Vaughn Armstrong, Nana Visitor, Ethan Phillips, and J.G. Hertzler (who was a last minute replacement for Jennifer Lien, who canceled).

Official East Coast Star Trek Convention Happening Next Month

For those of us on the East Coast, making it out to Creation Entertainment’s big Star Trek convention in Las Vegas is a bit difficult. Fortunately, there is an official East Coast convention held annually in New Jersey. The Official East Coast Star Trek Convention is taking place August 13 – 15, 2010 at the Hilton Parsippany. And I am happy to report that I will be there on Saturday to cover the convention for those of you who can’t make it to that one either.

Puffy AmiYumi to Appear at New York Comic Con and Perform at Far East To East Showcase

Japanese girl rock band Puffy AmiYumi will be performing at the Far East To East Showcase (FETES) during New York Comic Con. The performance is happening Sunday, October 10, 2010, and the convention runs October 8-10, 2010 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan. The band became famous in the US when Cartoon Network created an original cartoon staring them, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, which ran for three seasons. It eventually became one of the most watched cartoons in the world, and has been broadcast in 110 different countries.

Last weekend, everything I thought that I knew about pen and paper role-playing games got thrown out of a tenth story window and replaced with something fresh, new, and terribly overdue. This happened at the 7th Dimension Games store in Roslyn, Pennsylvania (USA). Machine Age Productions game developer David A. Hill Jr. came in Saturday afternoon and ran a demo of his soon-to-be released sci-fi horror genre RPG called Maschine Zeit.
