Let’s be honest, a lot of female anime characters have absurdly unrealistic body shapes, typically involving a teeny tiny waist and a pair of breasts that make it seem like she’d topple over. It isn’t much better for the men. Either the male anime stars are rail thin and tall, or they are insanely muscular. It often seems like there aren’t many characters that fall somewhere in between.

PAX East is quickly approaching! The Convention Fans Blog/Alltern8.com team is busy preparing. This is our first Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), since we’re east coasters who never managed to make it out to Seattle for the original convention.
PAX East is March 26-28th in Boston, Massachusetts at the Hynes Convention Center. And guess what? My wish came true, and Wil Wheaton is indeed going to be there giving the keynote address!

Oh man. Apparently Robert Beltran is a bigger jerk than William Shatner (and that is just one video of several with similar sentiments, sadly). I am seriously bummed. Now that Garrett Wang is running Dragon*con’s Trek Track, I’d like to put it out there that it’d be really cool to have a Star Trek: Voyager reunion for Dragon*con 2010. We’re already part of the way there, with Robbie Duncan McNeill and Garrett Wang in attendance.

The Convention Fans Blog/Alltern8.com is happy to announce that we will be attending TooManyGames, a one-day gaming convention located on the east coast of the United States. It is being held April 18th, 2010, 10am-6pm at the The Inn at Reading in Reading, Pennsylvania (USA).
TooManyGames features a marketplace with dozens of vendors; a gaming room with Atari, NES, NeoGeo, Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Wii, and more; tournaments such as Halo 3 and Guitar Hero 5, along with classic games; live concerts; and panel discussions.
