his week is the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. As, uh, you may have noticed. Among the comic books and other pop culture fare is a thread of steampunkery woven by various local groups. Here’s a quick look at the various steampunk events, panels, artists, signings, etc. available to the intrepid congoer for 2011.

Sunday I went to the opening night of Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog – Live! and Gam3rs: The Play. The venue was cozy and personal, Gam3rs was fun, and the stage adaption of Whedon’s Dr. Horrible was made of awesome.

TR!CKSTER is a new, free, comics convention in San Diego July 19-24, 2011. With a focus on the indie and self-published. So if you’re looking for an alternative to SDCC, here you go.
