There are many conventions this month, from comic cons to steampunk. There are doubtless fan conventions I’ve missed, so don’t forget that web searches are your friend. Here are the conventions, mini-cons and fan fess happening march 2011.

Ah, ConDor Con – my favorite sci-fi/fantasy convention; your engaging and informative panelists, your literary focus, your fun themes, your all ages programing, your tastiness-filled con suite, your cozy atmosphere.

Tolkien Moot is an annual convention, usually held in Washington, that is dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien enthusiasts, gamers, and scholars. Good ‘ol JRR is the author of such fantasy works as The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which you may have heard of.

HammerCon is a game convention run for gamers by gamers. The Canadian event, now in its third year, will be held November 4-5, 2011, at the Plaza Hamilton hotel located in downtown Hamilton, Ontario.

CondorCon 18 will be holding a blood drive in partnership with the Mandalorain Mercs, a Star Wars costume club.
